FERTILITY-BOOSTING FOOD GUIDE

Eat to nourish your hormones and create an optimal environment for conception.

1. Leafy Greens & Vegetables (Daily) High in folate, iron, and antioxidants

  • Spinach, kale, Swiss chard, romaine
  • Broccoli, asparagus, zucchini, sweet potato
  • Beets (great for uterine blood flow) Why: Folate supports cell division and reduces the risk of neural tube defects in early pregnancy.

2. Healthy Fats (Daily) Boosts hormone production and egg health

  • Avocados
  • Olive oil
  • Nuts (especially walnuts, almonds)
  • Seeds (flax, pumpkin, chia, sunflower)
  • Fatty fish (salmon, sardines, mackerel – 2–3x/week) Why: Omega-3s support ovulation, reduce inflammation, and help regulate cycles.

3. Antioxidant-Rich Foods (Daily) Protect eggs and sperm from oxidative stress

  • Berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)
  • Pomegranate
  • Dark chocolate (70%+ cocoa)
  • Artichokes, red cabbage, carrots Why: Free radical damage can affect egg quality; antioxidants fight this.

4. Protein from Clean Sources (Daily) Supports cell growth, hormone health, and uterine lining

  • Eggs (esp. yolks)
  • Chicken, turkey
  • Grass-fed beef or bison
  • Lentils, chickpeas, black beans
  • Greek yogurt, kefir (if tolerated) Why: Balanced protein helps build tissues necessary for a healthy pregnancy.

5. Complex Carbohydrates (Moderate) Keeps blood sugar stable, supports ovulation

  • Quinoa, oats, brown rice, barley
  • Sweet potatoes, butternut squash
  • Legumes and lentils Why: Stable insulin levels support healthy hormonal communication and reduce PCOS-related symptoms.

6. Full-Fat Dairy (2–3x/week) May reduce risk of ovulatory infertility (unless lactose intolerant)

  • Plain Greek yogurt
  • Whole milk
  • Cheese (in moderation) Why: Studies suggest full-fat dairy is more supportive of fertility than low-fat.

Foods & Habits to Limit:

  • Refined sugar (disrupts hormones)
  • Trans fats (found in processed and fast foods)
  • Excess caffeine (aim for <200mg/day)
  • Alcohol (especially in second half of cycle)

  • BPA (use glass or stainless-steel containers)

Hydration Tips:
